The purpose of mediumship is to connect with loved ones that have passed on to the Spirit World.  While I can never be certain that loved ones will want to communicate with their friends and families still living, it is often the desire of the Spirit to let their families know that they are still alive, that they still love them, and that they are still participating in their lives in some way even though they are in Spirit form.  Hearing from our loved ones can help us to understand that they never really died--only that they changed form.  It can also help us to experience some relief from our grief, find closure, help our hearts to heal, and allow us to move forward from the physical loss. 
Medium sessions are conducted with the highest of Light and Love.  As stated previously, I cannot guarantee your loved one's presence or communication--no one can.  The intention is set and then the rest is up to the Spirit World.
